Connect your AI app

You need a Helios account and an AI app that can add a custom connector (some plans of some apps can't; check yours). The address is the same everywhere:

Try the demo first

You can try a Helios coach without an account. The demo connector shows a fictional athlete, so you can see what your coach reads and how it answers before you connect your own data. Nothing you say to it is saved.

Add it as a custom connector the same way as below. It needs no sign-in, so choose the option for no authentication when your app asks (the wording varies by app).

Claude

Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans can add a custom connector. A Free plan is limited to one. On Team and Enterprise an Owner adds it for the organization first, then each member connects.

  1. Add Helios as a custom connector. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors. Choose Add, then Add custom connector. Name it Helios and paste the server address from the box above.
  2. Keep the detected sign-in. Claude finds Helios's sign-in on its own and registers itself, so leave any Client ID and Secret blank. Then choose Add.
  3. Sign in and approve. Choose Connect. Claude opens a Helios sign-in page. Sign in with your Helios email and password and choose Approve.
  4. Turn it on in a chat. In a new chat, choose the plus button, then Connectors, and switch Helios on. Connectors you add on the web also appear in the desktop and phone apps.

Steps checked 2026-10-11. If your app looks different, its own guide has the current names.

ChatGPT

OpenAI says custom MCP apps are open to eligible users but does not list which plans are eligible. If you don't see Create MCP App, your plan or workspace may not allow it; check ChatGPT's own plan page, or use Claude instead.

  1. Create an MCP app. Open chatgpt.com/plugins. Choose Add, then Create MCP App. OpenAI renamed apps to plugins and removed the separate developer-mode switch in October 2026.
  2. Point it at Helios. Name it Helios, paste the server address from the box above, and choose OAuth for authentication.
  3. Sign in and approve. ChatGPT opens a Helios sign-in page. Sign in with your Helios email and password and choose Approve.
  4. Use it in a chat. Start a new chat with Helios enabled. ChatGPT asks you to confirm each time your coach writes something, such as a note, a workout or a plan change. That is expected.

Steps checked 2026-10-11. If your app looks different, its own guide has the current names.

Grok

xAI says connectors are available to all Grok users. On Business and Enterprise an admin provisions the connector first. xAI doesn't document the sign-in options for custom connectors, so what Grok asks for may differ from the steps below.

  1. Add a custom connector. Go to grok.com/connectors. Choose New Connector, then Custom.
  2. Paste the server address. Paste the server address from the box above and complete any authentication Grok asks for.
  3. Sign in and approve. If Grok opens a Helios sign-in page, sign in with your Helios email and password and choose Approve.

Steps checked 2026-10-11. If your app looks different, its own guide has the current names.

Staying connected

A connection refreshes itself for about 30 days at a time, and you can remove it from your AI app's connector settings whenever you like.

Other MCP apps and Claude Code

Helios speaks MCP over streamable HTTP at the address above, with OAuth 2.1 and dynamic client registration. Any client that supports a remote MCP server with OAuth can connect the same way. Command-line tools can use a personal token from Settings → Coach instead.

What your coach can do once it's connected

  • Read your sessions, load, recovery and body-composition data that Helios holds.
  • Plan blocks and race-anchored event programs, and schedule workouts from the library.
  • Log sessions, goals and races, and keep notes and a memory of how you like to train.
  • Run criteria-gated injury programs that adjust your planned sessions.
  • Prepare workouts you can export to a device.

The coach answers when you open your AI app and ask. Helios doesn't generate or send automated coaching briefings.

Ready-made prompts

Some apps list these as shortcuts once Helios is connected:

  • morning briefing: Today's morning briefing from your Helios coach — how your body's doing, yesterday's execution, and the call on today's session.
  • post activity review: Your Helios coach reviews any activities it hasn't looked at yet: how each one actually went and what it means.
  • weekly review: Your Helios coach's review of the week — the verdict, what moved, what to watch, and next week's plan.

Troubleshooting

  • Can't reach Helios: remove the connector, add it again with the address above and sign in once more.
  • Consent page loops: make sure you're signed in to the same Helios account that holds your data, and that your browser allows the pop-up or redirect.
  • Still stuck: see support or email privacy@helioscoach.com.
