In plain words
What Helios is
Helios is a personal coach for cycling, running, swimming, rowing, strength, pickleball, tennis, padel, squash, badminton, athletics, hybrid and climbing. It keeps your plan, your sessions and your recovery data in one place, and gives a coach the context to explain what to do today and why.
The coach itself lives in the AI app you already use (Claude, ChatGPT or any app that supports MCP), connected through Helios. You approve the connection when you add it, and you can disconnect it at any time. Because Helios hosts no model of its own, the coach speaks when you open your AI app; Helios doesn't send automated coaching briefings.
Where the plans come from
Every workout and plan in the Helios library is written by hand from published training research, and carries its sources. Today that is 478 workouts and 31 plans across 13 sports, plus 37 race-anchored event programs counted back from your race day.
Load is counted the way each sport calls for, and Helios doesn't convert one method into another to make the numbers look alike:
- TSS from power: cycling
- rTSS from threshold pace: running
- sTSS from critical swim speed: swimming
- rTSS-row from erg watts: rowing
- Session-RPE · rating × minutes: strength, pickleball, tennis, padel, squash, badminton, athletics, hybrid, climbing
What Helios isn't
- Not medical advice. The injury programs describe criteria-gated return to training; they don't replace a clinician. If something is wrong, see one.
- Not a hosted AI service. Your conversations happen in the AI app you chose, under that provider's terms.
- Not an ad business. No advertising, and no third-party trackers; see the privacy policy.
Who builds it
Helios started as a personal coach for one athlete, its builder Sam Roy, and is being opened to others. It is built and run by one person, which is why support replies can take a few days. Write to privacy@helioscoach.com.
