Spartan Sprint: 8 weeks, peaks at ~5 h.

5 km and 20 obstacles on steep trail: grip-limited pass/fail obstacles, heavy mandatory carries, crawls and walls. That's the intermediate plan; beginner runs 8, advanced runs 8 weeks.

The checklist comes with it.

T-7Trail shoes that drain — "water-slicking, grippy sneakers"; road shoes let grit in. Synthetic, tight-fitting kit, no cotton; merino or compression socks.
T-7Gloves are optional, and many slip on wet rigs — test them in HY20 first.
T-1Timing chip, headband bib, waiver. A dry change of clothes and a bin bag for the muddy kit; electrolyte tabs, anti-chafe balm, tape for the hands.
race morningRace briefing: check the mandatory obstacles (failing one is a DQ) and any water swims — PFDs may be mandatory (Competition Rules §4.3.9). Open heats: 30 burpees per failed pass/fail obstacle; Age Group / Elite: a penalty loop.
afterTransition 3–5 days: easy running from day 2, no hard obstacle work.

Every plan cites its homework.

Thin evidence on durations: they rest on Spartan's own statements, one first-person Beast account and a third-party site; the Sprint bands are estimates. Venue climbing changes everything — widen the bands by the course's published elevation. The plans keep the official Spartan weekly shape (Mon run, Tue push/lower strength, Wed intervals or obstacle simulation, Fri pull/core strength, Sat long run) but are the dossier's own skeletons, not copies.
